Songs, Skits, Scrooge!
"Twist-a-Carol" consists of several short plays about the holidays, interspersed
with live music. The short plays include "Marley's Ghost" by Don Nigro, and two
original plays debuting at this event: "A Christmas Classic" by Christopher
Bibby (of Hoffman Estates) and "A Turn of the Scrooge" by Cathleen Ann and Rich
Geiger (both from Palatine and founders of Vex Theatre Company). All three plays
look at the holidays from unusual points of view. Holiday songs will be
performed throughout the evening under the music direction of Peter Rasey (of
Chicago).
"We wanted to give theatre-goers a new choice of holiday entertainment this
season," says Richard Geiger, Artistic Director of Vex Theatre Company,
"Twist-a-Carol offers a unique mix of holiday songs and short skits, as well as
A Turn of the Scrooge, an original one-act play where the famous story of A
Christmas Carol is turned on its ear."
