"Lady Windermere's Fan," the tale of a young married couple beset by scandal, is
arguably Oscar Wilde's best play. "Wilde is an exciting and surprisingly modern
playwright," says Cathleen Ann, a founding member of Vex Theatre Company. "I
think this play is rarely produced because it is more challenging than his
lighter works. We are lucky to have assembled a fine cast who can achieve that
delicate balance between comedy and drama." The story is brought to life by
fourteen actors, many of whom are seasoned veterans of the stage from Chicago
and the suburbs, from musical theatre to improv.
"Lady Windermere's Fan" will be presented Fridays through Sundays, April 18-27,
2008 at the beautiful Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division Street, in downtown
Elgin, IL. Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. Tickets are
$15; $12 for students and seniors. Reservations may be made online at

Krause from Hanover Park; Peter Rasey from Chicago; Gary Peterson from Hoffman
Estates; Elodie Senetra, Cathleen Ann, Madeline Franklin, and Brad Davidow from
